Marvin L. Snider

MARVIN LEROY SNIDER, 70, of Jackson Center, passed away at 6:01 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born on April 10, 1947 in Shelby County, Ohio, the son of the late Donald and Alice (Myers) Snider. 

On January 23, 1970 he married Brenda Maxwell, who survives along with two children, Daniel (Christie) Snider, and Dawn (Daniel) Grieshop, both of Sidney; four grandchildren, Dalton and Dylan Owen, Arielle and Tanner Snider; three great-grandchildren, Dominic, Danica and Diana Owen; two step-grandchildren, Alix and Jenna Grieshop; sister, Faye (Kenneth) Hall of Indiana; nephew, Joseph (Karen) Snider of New Bremen and niece, Angie Snider of Jackson Center; great nephew, Wil Snider; and great nieces, Emily and Abby Cotrell.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Snider.

Mr. Snider was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a SP4, Drill Sergeant in Fort Knox, KY.  Marvin was a member of First Baptist Church in Sidney.  In his spare time he loved to hunt, golf and pitch horse shoes.  He was a member of the Shelby County Horseshoe Association and was Shelby County mens champ.  He was also a member of the Shelby Oaks.  Marvin was a die-hard Browns Fan and loved to ride his Harley.  He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them.  He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. 

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with John Young officiating.  Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family respectfully requests no flowers, and to consider making memorial contributions to Wilson Hospice Care or the Sidney American Legion Post #217 in Marvin's memory.  Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to the Snider family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
