Marcus Goffena

PETER MARCUS GOFFENA, 31, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, in Miami Gardens, FL due to a work accident.

Born August 4, 1986, Marcus was raised in Sidney, OH as the middle son of David and Deborah (DeLoye) Goffena.  He is survived by two brothers.  Older brother, Derrek Burks, and his wife, Jill, along with their four kids, Olivia, Davis, Victoria, and Vaughn, reside in Houston.  Younger brother, Jordan Goffena, lives in Alexandria, VA.  Marcus was the grandson of Shyla Goffena and the late Peter Goffena of Sidney, and Francis and Betty DeLoye of Fort Loramie.  He was preceded in death by grandmother, Delores DeLoye, and uncle, Terry DeLoye.

Marcus enjoyed his life on the road, and his job at Tower King II provided the opportunity to travel the country and see the world.  As a beloved son, brother, and uncle, Marcus looked forward to his trips home, family vacations, golfing, as well as watching the Buckeyes and Bengals.  His family and friends will never forget his infectious smile.  Marcus lived his life to the fullest; he was the one who danced like no one was watching.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.  Family will also be receiving friends on Thursday, October 5, 2017 starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a service led by Holy Angels Catholic Church at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will at 1:30 PM on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery.

Marcus graduated in 2005 as a multiple sport athlete for Sidney High School.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Sidney High School Athletic 200 Club in his memory.
