Linda D. Messersmith

LINDA D. MESSERSMITH, age 77 of Anna, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 5:17 AM at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 29, 1940 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Rev. Noah and Alpha (Richardson) Perry. On November 24, 1956 she married Dalton J. Messersmith who preceded her in death May 1, 2012.

She is survived by five children, Jennie Dalton, Michael J. Messersmith both of Sidney, Lorie Messersmith of Piqua, Kimberly (Kevin) Carr of Anna, and Amy (Joe) Meinerding of St. Marys, one sister, Clara (Arthur) Minzer of Texas,  six grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Dalton, Kamie (Chad) Kormanik, Justin Carr, Jacob Carr, Samantha (Jacob) Ditmer, and Kylee (Kyle) Kohli, and four great-grandchildren, Haley and Sydney Dalton, Kaiden Kormanik, and Riley Kohli. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bearl and Luke Perry.

Mrs. Messersmith retired as a nurse's aide from Fair Haven Shelby County Home in 2001 after 25 years of service. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Tiffin, and a member of Calvary United Baptist Church in Sidney.

Linda enjoyed gospel music and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also treasured her time spent with many special friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Calvary United Baptist Church, 9480 Co. Rd. 25A, Sidney, with Pastor David Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney.
