Leonard Young

LEONARD RAY YOUNG, 76, of Sidney, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 7:17 AM at his residence. He was born on May 14, 1941 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Virgil (Pack) Young. On September 28, 1958, Leonard married the former Dollie Gambill who survives.

Leonard is survived by four children; Tim (Beleta) Young, Nickie (Bill) Barker, both of Sidney, Brenda (John) Travis of Houston, and Michele (Glenn) Napier of Piqua, twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two siblings, Russell Young of Ludlow Falls and Faye Demarcus of Sidney. Leonard was preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Martin, one grandson, Dennis Martin Jr, one son-in-law, Dale Estes, four sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Young retired from Ironworkers Local 290 after 35 years. He served as a Deacon of Glorybound Pentecostal Church of God and he served the Lord for over 41 years. His greatest joy in life was his wife, Dollie. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going out to eat, and especially enjoyed crab legs. He loved running his beagles and loved his house dog "Molly".

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney with Rev. Doug Howard and Rev. Denvil Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Friends may visit on Monday from 12 noon until the time of the service. A meal will follow at Hardin Crossroads.
