Jeanette Sargeant

JEANETTE M. SARGEANT, 86, of Sidney, passed away at 11:15 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love.  She was born on May 29, 1931 in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Idah (Chronaberry) Frazier.  On September 3, 1950 she married John W. Sargeant, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2016. 

Jeanette is survived by three children, Julia Barker, Jay (Elaine) Sargeant, and Jeff (Nancy) Sargeant, all three of Sidney; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Barker, Matthew Sargeant, Megan (Erik) Zarnitz, Brett (Courtney) Barker, Kevin Sargeant, Ciara Sargeant and Kandis Sargeant; and three great-grandchildren, Torrin and Taylor Barker, and Nolan Zarnitz.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Donovan and Martha Inskeep; and son-in-law, Scott Barker. 

Jeanette was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pleiades Chapter in Sidney.  Jeanette was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. 

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Rev. James Oates officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Community Foundation, Wilma Valentine Center, or Ohio Living Dorothy Love Life Care Fund in Jeanette's memory.  Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sargeant family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
