Janice R. Iiams

JANICE R. IIAMS, 96, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:50 AM at the Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney. She was born on October 9, 1921 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Olive (Murray) Roth Sr. on October 10, 1942, she married Myron G. Iiams, which they had been married for 73 years up until Myron passing March 25, 2016.

She is survived by four sons, Michael (Geraldine) Iiams, Thomas (Cheryl) Iiams, Greg and James; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and sister, Miriam Minnear of Sidney. Janice was preceded in death by three siblings, Annabel Trostel, Beatrice Bodiker, and Robert H. Roth Jr.

Mrs. Iiams was employed by HCF Management Inc. as a Regional Manager before she retired. While raising four sons, she helped with levies for schools, worked as a cafeteria worker and as bookkeeper. After the boys were out of school, she took her Ohio Nursing Home Administrator License and was one of the first licensed in the area. She was the administrator of Dorothy Love Home when the new structures and the first cottages were built. From there she was administrator for many other homes from Kettering, Ohio to Erie, Pennsylvania. She was a regional administrator and traveled from home to home. While being a regional administrator, she was also a member of the Ohio Nursing Home Peer Review Board. She had an active career that spanned over 25 years until she retired. She loved to sew and made most of her clothes, because store bought just did not fit right. Janice was active in the First Presbyterian Church for all of her life. She served on many committees at the church and was an Elder. Janice would like to thank the nursing home staff and residents of Ohio Living Dorothy Love.

Per Janice's wishes, memorial services will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S.
