Eddie Ray Mabry, 82, of Sidney passed peacefully in his sleep at 8:40 A.M. Saturday, September 9, 2017 while resting at Lane Park Senior Living Community of Sidney.  He was born on March 10, 1935 to the late Hobart and Myrtle (Mauk) Mabry in Slagle, West Virginia.

Two sons survive him, Michael Swiger of Sidney, and Curtis Swiger of St. Mary's, along with grandchildren, Kellie (Marion) Shoffner of Port Jefferson, Michelle (Tom) Wroda of Sidney, Jennifer (Alex) Moga of Avon, Melissa (Larry) Holtevert of Coldwater, Steve (Kim) Ballou of Toledo, and Tony Ballou of Wagoner, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Adrian Shoffner, Levi Shoffner, Andrew Wroda, Dayn Kenny-Holtevert, Hudson and Wade Holtevert, Stephanie Ballou, Amber Meyers, Eli Ballou, and Katherine and Emma Moga.  Also surviving are four great-great grandchildren and one brother, Raleigh Mabry of Arizona.

On August 16, 1965 he married his wife of 49 years, Genevieve (Jenny) M. Mabry, who preceded him in death. A son, Jerome Swiger of Sidney; a granddaughter, Danielle Swiger of Sidney; two brothers Glen and Jim Mabry, and a sister, Irene Bolling also preceded him in death.

Ed was a retired Sidney Police Patrolman and Photographer of 25 years. After retiring, he established The Outpost Sports Center in Sidney and operated it for several years before fully retiring.  Ed was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and reservist.  He was a member of the F.O.P, Temperance Lodge #73 Free and Accepted Masons, and American Legion.  Ed enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially by RV, golfing, grilling, coffee with friends, crossword puzzles, and sharing time with family and friends.

Private Services will be held for the family.  Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery.  Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Shrine Hosptial Fund, 107 E.
