Dorothy Louise Dickman

DOROTHY LOUISE DICKMAN, 84 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 09:40 AM at Lane Park of Sidney. She was born on May 7, 1933 in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard and Florence (Jacobs) DeWeese.

She is survived by two sons, Keith Dickman, and Bruce (Karen) Dickman both of Sidney, two grandchildren, Greg (Michelle) Dickman, and Jill (Scott) Bittinger, four great-grandchildren, Kendall and Colt Dickman, and Lexi and Tyler Bittinger, and friend, Barbara Lee, who was a great companion and caregiver before Dorothy moved to Lane Park. She was preceded in death by one brother, James DeWeese, and one sister, Roma DeWeese.

Mrs. Dickman was a 1951 graduate of Sidney High School. She retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation, and was previously employed by Monarch Machine and the City of Sidney.   

Dorothy was a former member of the Book and Travel Club, and lifelong member of Sidney First United Methodist Church, where she served in the choir and other church groups. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, and in recent years reading.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Rev. Jane Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
