DENNIS EDWARD RUBLE, 72, of Sidney, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Kettering Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. He was born July 22, 1945, in Youngstown, OH, the son of the late Edward and Marie (Higgins) Ruble.
On May 17, 1969, he married Donnajean (Poulakos) Ruble who is survived along with son Daniel Edward of Dayton, OH and daughter Dana Elizabeth and husband James Moore of Pataskala, OH. He is also survived by siblings: Kathy Tucciarone (Jim), Tom Ruble (Alice), Donna Ruble, and Jim Ruble (Nancy) and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was dedicated to the YMCA. As a youth in Youngstown, Ohio he was only able to attend because of the Y scholarship program. Thus this experience turned into a Y a career that spanned the YMCAs of Youngstown, OH, including Camp Fitch where Dennis and Donnjean first met to: Lima, OH: and Sidney, OH. Dennis retired from the Sidney Shelby County YMCA of Sidney, OH after 25 years as Executive Director. Following retirement,
Dennis worked as the Financial Development Director for Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He also provided his leadership skills for various community not-for-profit organizations of Shelby County.
Dennis was an outgoing and generous person who loved his family, golf, beer, good wine, good food and good friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney. On Saturday, October 7th, a Liturgy of Word service will be held at 10:00 am with Father John Tonkin presiding at the funeral home, followed by graveside services at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio.
