Dee Clark

DEE ALLEN CLARK, 83, of Sidney, passed away at 3:25 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on March 16, 1934 in Stearns, Kentucky, the son of the late Dillard and Bertha (Hughs) Clark. On March 20, 1954 Dee married the former Beatrice Saylor who survives in Sidney.

Dee is also survived by three children; David (Susan) Clark of Ft. Loramie, Ricky Clark of Sidney and Deborah (Mike) Liess of  Anna, three grandchildren; Christopher, Ethan and Caitlyn Clark, two step-grandchildren, Wayne (Angie) Liess and Michael (Carla) Liess, one sister, Jackie (Jim) Salat and one brother, Laurell (Brenda) Clark. Dee was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Clark and Vernie Hyde and five brother; Bobby, Willard, James, Coy and Cecil Clark.

Mr. Clark retired in 1990 from Copeland Corporation as Human Resource Director after working his way up from a drill press operator. Dee served on the Shelby County Mental Health Board and was a member of Gideon's International.

Dee was born again on October 14, 1962 into the Kingdom of God and became a participating member of The First Church of God. He served on the board of trustees, church council, taught Sunday School and served as Sunday School Superintendent and on building committees. He also served alongside his son, David, as deacon of the church men's group from 2008 - 2010. Dee worked tirelessly helping on the building of the church until his health did not permit him to do so.

After retiring from Copeland Corporation he and his wife, Beatrice, made four trips to Argentina, South America to help build church buildings, which fulfilled a lifelong dream. Dee loved to travel, especially with the church. He and Beatrice went to Germany for a Church World Conference and visited Austria, Switzerland, France and England. In 1995 they traveled to Sydney, Australia for another Church World Conference and were able to visit Auckland, New Zealand while on that trip. They always attended campmeetings in Anderson, Indiana and Springfield, Ohio.

Dee and Beatrice spent their winters in North Ft. Myers, Florida since 1999. Dee enjoyed life and loved his family more they will ever know. He will be sadly missed by all of us.

Dee was a member of Connection Point Church of God 1510 Campbell Road Sidney, where Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 8, 2018. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 4 PM at the church.
