Darla J. Marx

DARLA JEAN MARX, 71, of Sidney, passed away at 7:25 PM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.  She was born on May 13, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Viola and Florence (Maier) Hatfield.  On September 25, 1965 she married John Marx, who preceded her in death in February of 2008.

Darla is survived by her four children, Susan (Michael) Stark of Sidney, Karen (Nick) Webb of Wapakoneta, Cindy (Troy) Major of Toledo, and David Marx of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan and Evan Schubert, Matt and Ben Webb; five step-grandchildren, Lee and Kyle Stark, Brian Webb, Joshua and Jordyn Major; one sister, Nancy (Mike) Burchett of Sidney; and her loving dog companions, Gracie and Maggie.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Webb. 

Darla was retired from Honda in Anna after more than 10 years of service.  She was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins.  She enjoyed going on walks and spending time with her family and two dogs. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins, with Rev. Sean Wilson presiding.  Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to S.C.A.R.F. or the James Cancer Hospital.  Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to the Marx family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
