Charles "Chuck" Leslie Wise

CHARLES "CHUCK" LESLIE WISE, 75, of Jackson Center, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3:33 PM at Hospice of Miami County in Troy. He was born on March 2, 1942 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Charles C. and Margaret (Ward) Wise.

He is survived by two sons, Michael C. (Karen) Wise, and Daniel Wise both of Sidney, one sister, Rosalie Snipes of Piqua, nephew and nieces, Greg (Caryn) Snipes, Shelley (Chuck) Black both of Piqua, and Terri Chmiel of Block Island, RI, a great-niece, Alexis Snipes of Piqua, and special friend, Tabby Whitson. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Robert Snipes of Piqua.

Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Sidney High School. He started working at Ross Aluminum in 1960, and after a short few months away from Ross, working for the United Parcel Service, he returned to Ross Aluminum and worked there until his retirement in 2004.

Chuck was a member of several clubs, including the Moose Lodge #1533, AMVETS #39, and Eagles #3615 all of Indian Lake, and VFW #4239 of Sidney. He enjoyed visiting all of these clubs on a weekly basis, signing their books for the weekly drawings, and enjoying a few beers with his many friends he met along the way.

Chuck enjoyed life and loved his family. He enjoyed fishing with friends, cooking, and following the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of Four Seasons Campground at Indian Lake, where he has had a camper trailer for over 30 years. Most recently, he was referred to as the "Patriarch of the Campground." He had many friends at the campground, and enjoyed spending long weekends with all of them.

A Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Rev. Jonathan W. Schriber officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
