Charles E. Centers

CHARLES E CENTERS, 81, of Sidney passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 06:40 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on December 12, 1935 in Rockholds, Kentucky, the son of the late Alva Ray and Annabelle (Prewitt) Centers. On December 12, 1954, he married the former Lois Bray, who survives.

Charles is survived by two children, Vanessa Gail Petty and Charles Joe (Karen) Centers both of Sidney; two grandchildren, Jessica (Shane) Rickert and Brad (Michelle) Centers; three great-grandchildren, Keighlynn and Carson Rickert and Jadyn Stambaugh; four siblings, Alice Pellman of Sidney, Susan Tidwell, Peggy (Ron) Lambert and Patsy (John) Redmond all of Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorman and Bob, one infant sister and one grandson, Jason Hughes.

Mr. Centers was employed by Copeland Corporation as a Supervisor in which he retired after 46 years. Charles also operated and owned the former Centers Refrigeration for 20 years. He was a devoted member of the Crossroad Church of God in Piqua for 62 years. He enjoyed bowling and golf in his free time. Charles was a member of the Army National Guard serving from 1954-1972.

Per Charles's wishes, his body will be cremated. A Gathering of Friends will be Monday May 15, 2017 at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney, OH 45365 from 5pm-7pm.
