Bruce (BJ) Patrick Toal Jr.

BRUCE PATRICK (BJ) TOAL, 23, of Sidney, OH passed away at 3:30 pm on April 10, 2017 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born in Sidney, OH on September 21, 1993, to Bruce and Catherine (Causseaux) Toal. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel.  He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Catherine Toal of Sidney, his brothers Jonathan of Troy, OH, Antonio of Mexico City, MX, Zachary of Columbia, MO and sister, Lilly of Eagle River, AK.  He also leaves maternal grandmother Charlene Causseaux of Balsam Grove, NC, paternal grandmother, Leona Toal, of Charlotte, NC and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

BJ was a 2013 graduate from Troy Christian High School.  BJ had an outstanding high school wrestling career at Troy Christian.  He was a two-time state champion and in 2013 led his team to a team state title as well.  His senior year he was voted to USA Wrestling All American team which yearly designates the best wrestlers in the country.  He received a scholarship to wrestle at the University of Missouri where he joined his older brother Zach who was already on the team.  BJ would have graduated this May.

BJ accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age.  At the age of 12 he was baptized in water at Living Word Church in Vandalia symbolizing his trust and reliance upon Jesus.  BJ truly displayed the fruit of the Holy Spirit in his life and always deposited more into relationships than he took.  He was a loving and compassionate man.  He had a clear understanding of his identity and who he was in Jesus Christ and because of this was as genuine as they come.

BJ changed the atmosphere when he entered the room with his kind heart, wonderful smile and laugh.  He was truly a gift to our family and friends.  Sitting with BJ and sharing and talking for hours seemed like minutes and you didn't want it to end.  He just made you feel you were a better person whenever you spent time with him.  He was that guy! Strength and Honor BJ.

A Celebration of BJ's Life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Rd, Sidney. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 8 PM at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, Sidney.  The family will dress casually as this is the way BJ would have wanted it.
